CEO Says

Here’s the latest sales, rights and distribution update from CEO Jane Fraser.

Spring is here and so is the Frankfurt International Book Fair. Fremantle Press is pleased to announce it will be part of a new Small Press Network (SPN) initiative made possible by a grant from the Australia Council.

Zoe Dattner will head to Frankfurt on behalf of a group of SPN members to undertake face-to-face meetings throughout the Fair, focusing in particular on the North American market. As the former CEO of SPN, Zoe is very familiar with Fremantle Press titles and will be a great addition to our existing team of agents.

Fremantle Press continues to work closely with agents in Spain, France, Germany, UK, Turkey, China and Korea. Our agents are experts in their regions and work hard to promote our new and backlist titles both at the Fair and throughout the year. We look forward to the results they will bring.

I was delighted to be on a Books to Film panel at CinefestOz in Busselton last month. It was fabulous to sit alongside local publishing colleagues and Seph McKenna, head of production at Roadshow Films, to promote Fremantle Press titles. The fifty-strong crowd of producers enthusiastically embraced what we had to offer and several books have found their way into new hands as a result of this initiative. Many thanks to ScreenWest and the Australian Writers’ Guild for this opportunity to promote our uniquely Western Australian stories to the film world.
