Master the art of saying more with less in this intimate two-hour generative workshop with internationally acclaimed flash fiction author Gillian O’Shaughnessy. Perfect for writers at any level, this hands-on session will guide up to 40 participants through the essential elements of compelling short fiction.
Using fun, targeted prompts, you’ll mine your own observations and memories to create fresh drafts on the spot. Gillian will share expert editing techniques to help you carve away excess and sculpt miniature masterpieces that pack maximum emotional punch.
Gillian brings 25 years of storytelling experience as an ABC broadcaster and senior journalist. Her flash fiction has been anthologised in Best Small Fictions (2023-25) and won prestigious prizes including the London Independent Story Prize, the UK Welkin Prize, and the US Fractured Literary Anthology Prize.
