Have multi-award-winning author Norman Jorgensen visit your classroom on Friday 21 August!
Norman is the creator of such titles as In Flanders Fields, Jack’s Island and The Smuggler’s Curse
Norman’s workshop will take your classroom on an adventure as far back in time as 1898, as well share his Rules for Writing so that young writers have the very best advice for when they sit down to create. He will explore with your students how real-life tales inspired his novels, and the role real places in Western Australia can play in influencing stories. Norman has visited every place he writes about and is continually surprised, yet delighted, when his imaginary friends from the distant past arrive to share their tales with us today.
Norman has kindly donated his time. You can also support Fremantle Press by booking Norman directly through us. Your school will receive a tax-deductible receipt and be recognised on the Fremantle Press Honour Board – as well as enjoying a fabulous author’s visit while helping independent WA publishing purchase a permanent home.
This workshop is best suited to Years 5-8 and runs for approximately 60 minutes.
