Chef Mollois snags regular television gig
Emmanuel Mollois, author of Et VoilÃ? !, is to appear on ABC TV’s new program ‘Poh’s Kitchen’, which will air in February 2010. He will be the first of several guest chefs to work alongside MasterChef’s 2009 runner-up Poh Ling Yeow.
Emmanuel said he was thrilled to be a part of ‘Poh’s Kitchen’.
“In just over a year, I’ve gone from being the owner of a small pastry shop in Swanbourne to being a published author and television presenter,” said Emmanuel.
“It’s been one hell of a ride,” he said.
‘Poh’s Kitchen’, which is produced by the same team behind ‘The Cook and the Chef’, will feature Mollois as well as chefs David Thompson and Neil Perry among others.
Mollois went through two auditions in Adelaide after his book and DVD, a short book trailer from iFish films in Subiaco, caught the attention of Executive Producer Margot Phillipson of the ABC.
Emmanuel said working with Poh was a lot of fun and he looked forward to representing WA on national television.
“We have such different backgrounds that we have a lot to learn from each other,” said Emmanuel.
‘Poh’s Kitchen’ airs on Wednesdays at 6.30pm from 10 February 2010 on ABC1.
Et VoilÃ? ! French Pastries from Choux Café is in its second print run and is available from Fremantle Press.
Emmanuel Mollois will be hosting his regular cooking classes at Kitchen Witch in Subiaco and a cooking demonstration at All Saints Literature Festival in March 2010.
