Boola Noongar Waangkiny

Fremantle Press is based in Walyalap, country that sits on both sides of the Derbal Yerrigan (Swan River), where it meets the sea – a significant gathering place for ceremonies, cultural practices, storytelling and trade. Noongar is the language of the Noongar nation and is spoken by 14 different groups across the south-west corner of Western Australia.

Fremantle Press believes a Reconciliation Action Plan is essential to our core focus of bringing Western Australian stories to the world in a country where sovereignty has never been ceded. This always was and always will be the land of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

For teachers looking for activities that they can do in the classroom, Fremantle Press has designed a range of activity sheets and teaching notes to accompany our titles.
