Fremantle Press authors at Chittering Valley Festival
Join Julie Mews, co-author of The Food Lovers’ Guide to Perth, and Emmanuel Mollois, author of Et Voila!, at the Flavours of Chittering on Sunday 12 September 2010.
Mews, who is also the event organiser, said the research she conducted for The Food Lovers’ Guide to Perth was invaluable when it came to creating the program of this one-day food and wine festival celebrating the fabulous produce of the Chittering Valley where she lives.
The Flavours of Chittering takes the form of a Hub consisting of a growers’ market on the Village Green selling high quality, fresh, seasonal food; cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs and local cooks in the Village Hall; wine tastings and sales from the award-winning vintages of the vineyards of the Chittering Valley Wine Trail; and light refreshments including freshly made tea and coffee, wood-fired pizza, picnic hampers and a sausage sizzle using the very best hand-made sausages from the local butcher.
From The Hub, visitors are encouraged to head out to one of the seven participating wineries and vineyards to enjoy the lunch provided, listen to live music and sample their wines.
Michael Forde of Cantina 663 in Beaufort Street will be cooking a Long Table Lunch for 70 people in the atmospheric Barrel Room at Western Range Wines. All participants receive a complimentary copy of The Food Lovers’ Guide to Perth as part of their ticket.
