Meet Claire Miller, Marketing and Communications Manager

Claire Miller is the Marketing and Communications Manager at Fremantle Press. She is a builder’s daughter and helps construct IKEA book cases as required.

She thought she read a book a day until she registered with Good Reads and discovered she only reads a book a fortnight. The website tells her she is over 49% behind on her 2012 reading challenge.

She has been reading The Discovery of Heaven by Harry Mulisch since July 2011.

She has narrowly avoided reading Ian McEwan’s Amsterdam on numerous occasions with some very close calls at book swaps in Delft, Tehran, Penong and Bandung.

Her library books are always late. She once dropped a book off at the Subiaco Library at 3am; in her PJs.

The book she got the most publicity for in 2012 was The House of Fiction: Leonard, Susan and Elizabeth Jolley.

The first book she ever bought cost 10 cents at a Port Lincoln op shop in 1979. She still owns it: The Turfcutter’s Donkey by Patricia Lynch.
