Fremantle Press submissions go digital

From today, manuscript submissions to Fremantle Press will be received electronically via Submittable. Marketing and communications manager Claire Miller said as well as working with agents and existing authors, Fremantle Press received hundreds of unsolicited manuscripts every year – formerly all as hard copies.

‘With the new system, authors won’t need to print their manuscript or visit the post office to make a submission. For that reason we hope that most will welcome the change,’ said Miller.

‘The new procedure streamlines the process of administering submissions, allowing our editorial team to focus on what really matters – looking for new Western Australian writers. It also means we can keep the submission period open year-round where before we’d take a break over the summer,’ said Miller.

Fremantle Press welcomes unsolicited manuscripts from authors of Western Australian origin or whose main place of residence is Western Australia. Work by non–Western Australian authors is considered when the subject matter has a strong Western Australian focus. Fremantle Press accepts manuscripts in the genres of non-fiction, fiction and narrative non-fiction, poetry, and books for children and young adults, and welcomes portfolio submissions from photographers and illustrators.
