Wombat, Mudlark and Other Stories by Helen Milroy joins the Koori Curriculum for 2023.
The Koori Curriculum Book Summit Recordings for 2023 are now available for educators. Fremantle Press’s own Helen Milroy is among the list of contributors for 2023 with her picture book Wombat, Mudlark and Other Stories.
Access to the 2023 Koori Curriculum allows patrons to hear what’s behind the stories created by First Nations storytellers. You and your classroom can listen to Wombat, Mudlark and Other Stories by Helen Milroy, as well as other First Nation authors including Koori Princess by Dr. Aneita Heiss, The Bunyip and The Stars by Adam Duncan, and Charlie’s Swim by Aunty Edith Wright & Charmaine Ledden-Lewis.
The curriculum is designed for all educators – including early childhood, primary, extracurricular and librarians – to assist in navigating and building upon First Nations stories, and using them as a springboard for further learning. To find out more about how to implement First Nations storytelling in your area of education, access to the full curriculum can be found on their website.
