It’s time for WA children to cast their vote

One Wrong Turn by Chenée Marrapodi has been shortlisted for a West Australian Young Readers’ Book Award in the middle grade category.

The West Australian Young Readers’ Book Award is a children’s choice book award that is open to all students up to Year 12 in WA across the categories of Picture Books, Younger Readers, Middle Readers and Older Readers.

Young people can read titles on the lists and vote whether they thought it was ‘terrific’, ‘good’, ‘okay’ or ‘not for me.’

Chenée Marrapodi is an Australian writer, journalist and podcaster whose love of words is rivalled only by her love of dance. Set in an elite dance academy, her book One Wrong Turn is a compelling coming-of-age novel about overcoming pressure, standing up for yourself and the joy of ballet.
