Draw what you love: A self‑esteem activity for classrooms

Bring self-love and reflection into the classroom with a teaching activity inspired by the new edition of I Love Me by Sally Morgan and Ambelin Kwaymullina.
In the I Love Me self-portrait, have students draw a picture of themselves and label everything they love about being who they are and what makes them unique.
Continue the celebration of self with more activities available in our free teaching notes, which include:
- Binding the students’ completed self-portraits into one book to be shared in the classroom
- Writing an acrostic poem that spells out their names, and each line should describe something that makes them special
- Have the class brainstorm the kinds of things we can do to help us feel better when we are upset
