Readers of regional WA, now’s your chance to hear from author Jay Martin! Her latest novel, Boom Town Snap, is a fierce and gripping novel about a debt-strapped young woman named Georgie who follows boss-turned-lover Nico to what is supposed to be a quick and lucrative job at an oilfield in Canada, only to uncover why she was really hired, and what it could cost her.

On Wednesday 15 October, Jay will be in Kalgoorlie, talking about Boom Town Snap in detail, including all that went into the making of the book. This talk is taking place at the William Grundt Memorial Library from 6.00–7.30 pm, and is free to attend, just register your interest here: https://www.kalgoorlietourism.com/whats-on/event/147217-meet-greet-with-author-jay-martin

Later in the month, there are two events for book lovers in Karratha, both taking place at the Karratha Library:

First up is Libraries After Dark – an author talk (plus some nibbles) on the evening of Friday 24 October.

Then, on the morning of Saturday 25 October, Jay is running a creative writing workshop to get you started if you’re a beginner, or find the momentum to keep going if you’ve already dipped your toes into the writing pool. You can find more information and book in to the events on the Karratha Library website here: https://libraries.karratha.wa.gov.au/community/events/jay-martin-events-library
