Catch these Fremantle Press authors at Margaret River Readers and Writers Festival

Bernice Barry, Prema Arasu and David Whish-Wilson are taking part in the Margaret River Readers and Writers Festival. Join them in our state’s beautiful South West for a weekend of author talks and workshops.
Friday 15 May
3.30–4.30 pm: Bernice will be talking about her latest book, The Names of a Hare, with Donna Mazza, exploring history, myth and the enduring power of storytelling.
Saturday 16 May
9.30–11.30 am: Nearby in Busselton, Bernice will take you through the art of historical fiction in this practical workshop.
12.00–1.00 pm: Join David Whish-Wilson in conversation with Sarah McNeill at Shelter Brewing Co as he explores the crime, justice and hidden forces shaping WA’s shadowy corners in his crime novels.
1.30–3.30 pm: Also in Busselton, poet and researcher Prema Arasu is hosting a workshop on speculative and experimental fiction through short forms of writing.
Sunday 17 May
9.30–10.30 am: Prema is giving a thought-provoking talk on poetry, oceans and the more-than-human world, hosted by Donna Mazza.
2.00–4.00 pm: Join David Whish-Wilson for a practical workshop on how to capture a character’s essence in just a few lines, offering hands-on exercises to sharpen observation and bring characters to life quickly and convincingly.
2.30–3.30 pm: Prema joins authors Bob Brown, Sarah Wilson and Katherine Johnson for a dynamic panel discussion exploring the climate challenges we face, the power of storytelling and activism, and practical steps to protect our planet.
