What’s been happening in the wonderful world of children’s literature at Fremantle Press with Cate Sutherland, publisher.Two weekends of Perth Festival magic! First the Giants hit our city streets. Partly inspired by Lighthouse Girl, they captivated young and old. Then it was the Perth Writers Festival.

This year it wasn’t just the words that wowed everyone but also the awesome talents of James Foley and Kyle Hughes-Odgers, who worked with the children of Perth to create a magnificent mural.

Back at my desk, I am surrounded by new illustrations from Sally Morgan for We all sleep, Kyle Hughes-Odgers for Can a skeleton have an x-ray? and Nicholas Schafer for Bella and the wandering house. I can’t wait to share the finished books with you later this year.
