One Wrong Turn shortlisted for the West Australian Young Readers Book Award

It’s time to get your young readers voting for their favourite book! Fremantle Press was delighted to see our favourite ballet book One Wrong Turn by Chenée Marrapodi in the running for The West Australian Young Readers’ Book Award.

The author said, ‘One Wrong Turn was my debut novel and it has a really special place in my heart. It’s a celebration of my love of ballet and my Italian heritage, so to hear that kids are really connecting with the story has me happy-dancing to the max!’

Describing the book and its impact to date, Chenee said, ‘Set at a ballet school, One Wrong Turn is a story of friendship, teamwork, family and courage, showcasing the athleticism and resilience required of dancers. I love hearing that it’s inspired and empowered readers to be unashamedly ambitious and to work hard to achieve their dreams – both on the dance floor and off.’

One Wrong Turn is available in all good bookstores and online, along with its follow up title, Breaking Pointe.

The West Australian Young Readers’ Book Award is a children’s choice book award that is open to all students in WA up to Year 12. To review the shortlist and vote, go to their website https://www.wayrba.org.au/
