Jo Giles

Jo Giles is a non binary, crip poet and short story/micro fiction writer living on Beeliar Noongar Boodja in Hamilton Hill, WA with Ross and Jacky Blue. They are a regular attendee at Perth Slam and have been a finalist in the Western Australian State Final of the Australian Poetry Slam for the last 4 years. In 2024 they won the State Final and went on to compete in the National Final held at the Sydney Opera House. They subsequently won this final and is the current Australian Poetry Slam Champion. Jo writes about disability, gender identity and the complexity of living while dying. They have Cystic Fibrosis and in 2015 they had a bilateral lung transplant.
