Join Luisa Mitchell for the launch of her inventive, moving and accessible debut poetry collection, Song of the Shadow of a Seed.

Mitchell’s work includes conversations-in-poetry with family members that weave connection and shared history into every line. They are a call to listen, to learn and to engage with the lived truths of Whadjuk Nyungar Country.

Luisa will be joined by fellow poets Barb Hostalek, Daniel Hansen, Lakshmi Kanchi (SoulReserve) and Luisa’s father, Peter Mitchell, for poetry readings, then Luisa will be in conversation with Ballardong editor Casey Mulder.

Song of the Shadow of a Seed launches on Tuesday 26 May at Fremantle Library from 6.30 pm.

Refreshments will be provided, and copies of the book will be available for purchase thanks to New Edition Bookshop.
