Meet Cate Sutherland, Children’s Publisher

Cate Sutherland is the Children’s Publisher. She refers to her job as ‘taking care of all children’s books for babies through to young adults’.

She’s known to bake the occasional cake in the Fremantle Press kitchen and the smell of apple tea cake wafting down the hallway guarantees a full house at the monthly staff meeting. Sometimes the staff meeting is over before the cake is cooked.

Her next book will be My Superhero by Chris Owen and Moira Court and her current book is Creepy & Maud by Dianne Touchell.

Her most-read genre is children’s and young adults.
She’s currently reading Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson.
