The latest news from the Fremantle Press Sales, Rights and Distribution Manager, Clive Newman
Fremantle Press has had a great start to the year with lots of exciting news from abroad. Fremantle Press has joined with a number of Australian publishers in signing an agreement with the American firm Nokbok Inc. Based in Tennessee, Nokbok provides subscribers with access to a broad collection of digital books, articles, papers, short stories and poetry. The selection process to decide which Fremantle Press titles to include in the first batch is underway and we look forward to seeing what makes the list.
Those planning a driving holiday around New Zealand in the near future might be lucky enough to catch one of our titles being read on air. Radio New Zealand drama department has chosen Tracy Farr’s debut novel The Life and Loves of Lena Gaunt for its readings program and is preparing an abridged version for national broadcast.
In other international news, two Fremantle originated picture books, The Other Bears (Michael Thompson) and Crocodile Cake (Palo Morgan and Chris Nixon), have now been released in the US and China respectively. The US publishers have also released a bilingual English/Spanish edition, Los Otros Osos.
