Hello and goodbye – new faces and new roles at Fremantle Press

Fremantle Press welcomes Tiffany Ko, who is our new Events Marketing Assistant. Tiffany recently graduated from UWA with a degree in English and Cultural Studies and Chinese. We first worked with her on the Fremantle Press podcast when she interviewed Amanda Curtin.

Tiffany will be working with the marketing and communications team to deliver Fremantle Press’s upcoming events. She’ll hit the ground running as she organises the ceremony at which we’ll announce the inaugural winner of the Fogarty Literary Award.

Jen Bowden’s work at Fremantle Press has been recognised with her promotion to the role of Marketing and Communications Coordinator. Over the past 12 months, Jen has shown she has a flair for writing, a keen eye for detail and a nose for good story angles.  Among many other tasks, Jen has quickly established herself as the key contact for every event organiser in Western Australia, is a social media stalwart and helps create the beautiful marketing and merchandise materials we see each month. She’s also so organised we are certain she would in fact be able to herd cats if only her allergies would allow it.

It’s a bittersweet fact of life that we sometimes have to say goodbye to a valued member of the team. Events Project Officer Jess Gately helped us launch the Four Centres Emerging Writers Pilot Program with a suite of workshops and the very successful Business of Being a Writer seminar at Perth Festival Writers Week. She wrestled with the logistics of tea and cake for 250 guests at the Great Big Book Club Tea Party and saw her writing colleague Holden Sheppard win the City of Fremantle T.A.G. Hungerford Award. She interviewed authors for the Fremantle Press podcast and videos and was the woman behind the Fremantle Press Champions of Literature Soirées – all while working on a Master of Professional Writing and Publishing at Curtin University, launching a bookstore, writing for newspapers and editing the website Underground Writers.

We wish Jess the best of luck finishing her degree. We know this superstar of the book industry will continue to make a big impact as she continues her career as a publishing professional.
