Andrea Thompson is a proud gender-diverse woman who has spent almost her entire life turning her passion and sharp intellect to being successful at everything except being herself. Working through a range of jobs, including trades assistant in the Northwest of Western Australia, factory worker, teacher and public servant, Andrea’s one constant is writing. Whenever the world makes her doubt herself, Andrea writes her way through the uncertainty. Her lived experience influences most aspects of her life, including her creative works. Being an accidental member of one of the smallest and most oppressed minorities in society, Andrea is an activist and campaigner for recognition and equity for trans and gender-diverse people. Her approach to life is to live large in the mainstream, while working to change the world one small step at a time, making it safer and creating equity for LGBTQIA+ people. She largely does this through her great loves of writing and music.
