Briony Stewart

Born in Perth, Western Australia, Briony Stewart is an award-winning author and illustrator of 25 books for children, including the Kumiko and the Dragon series. Briony’s passion for children’s literature stems from her belief in its profound social and cultural impact and accessibility across multigenerational audiences. Briony has lectured on children’s literature at Curtin University and conducts talks and workshops with children and adults across Australia, including its most remote communities. Briony lives in Fremantle with her biologist husband and two children, in a house littered with craft projects, books and spiky Lego.
