Dylan Hyde has a background in film and television production, and is the nephew of academic and public figure Sister Veronica Brady. The son of a scientist and a classics scholar, he was born in the United States and raised in Perth before emigrating to Melbourne in his late teenage years. He has an ongoing interest in historical research and writing, specifically in the areas of art and political history. His previous writings on the Workers’ Art Guild include an article published in Papers in Labour History (Australian Society for the Study of Labour History, No. 18, March 1997) and a short piece in the Historical Encyclopedia of Western Australia (UWA Press, 2009).
