Joelee Haskett is a Noongar artist and visual arts educator of mixed heritage whose work invites young Australians to see through a Noongar lens, encouraging a way of noticing the natural world that helps keep this knowledge alive, while gently exploring themes of reconciliation and preserving language. Inspired by the coastal landscapes of Western Australia, her work reflects a strong sense of place, belonging and the subtle seasonal changes that shape the Noongar calendar. Through her work, Joelee encourages children to recognise and value First Nations language and knowledge, supporting a deeper awareness of the natural world and a shared sense of story.
