Kirsten Tranter

Kirsten Tranter writes fiction, essays and criticism and is the author of three novels, most recently Hold (HarperCollins), longlisted for the 2017 Miles Franklin Award and the Voss Literary Award. The Legacy was a Kirkus Review debut novel of the year for 2010, shortlisted for the ALS Gold Medal and the ABIA literary fiction award, and longlisted for the Miles Franklin award. Her story ‘The Passenger’ in Sydney Noir was nominated for an Edgar Award in 2020. Kirsten was a co-founder of the Stella Prize for Australian women’s writing. She grew up in Sydney and now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
