Richard J. Frankland

Richard J. Frankland is an Australian playwright, scriptwriter and musician. He is an Aboriginal Australian of Gunditjmara origin from Victoria who has worked significantly for the Aboriginal Australian cause. He is the multi−award winning author of plays Conversations with the Dead and Walkabout and films including Who Killed Malcolm Smith?, No Way to Forget, After Mabo – The Amendments, Harry’s War and Stone Bros. He is also the author of Digger J Jones: Holy Snapping Duckpoo. His songs have been recorded by Archie Roach and Tiddas and his latest album is Discovering Leerpeen Mara. He is currently Associate Professor in Cross-Disciplinary Practice in the Division of Fine Arts and Music at the Victorian College of the Arts.
