Shannon Meyerkort

By night, Shannon Meyerkort is a West Australian author who writes across genres, while by day she is a bookseller and journalist. She comes from an academic background in the health and social sciences, and writes historical fiction for adults and chapter books for dyslexic readers. Her debut children’s book, Brilliant Minds: 30 Dyslexic Heroes Who Changed Our World, was published in 2022. That year, she was also longlisted for the Hungerford Award and a finalist in the inaugural Best Australian Yarn short story competition. She is a 2022 KSP Fellow and had a place on the 2020 Fremantle Press/Four Centres Emerging Writers Program.
