Sean Gorman

Sean Gorman has worked in the field of Indigenous history for twenty years. His honours research applied Russian formalist theory to the Murri guerilla poet Lionel Fogarty, while his PhD looked at racism in sport through the story of the Krakouer brothers. His books include Brotherboys (Allen & Unwin, 2005), which was adapted into a play that toured nationally in 2011, and Legends: The AFL Indigenous Team of the Century (Aboriginal Studies Press, 2011). Sean is the Chief Investigator on an ARC Linkage review of the AFL’s vilification laws. He is a Senior Research Fellow at Curtin University and has previously worked at Murdoch University, ECU’s Kurongkurl Katitjin and the University of Melbourne.
