A message from Fremantle Press CEO Jane Fraser to our customers, colleagues, contractors and creatives

Just as we know each of you will be doing, Fremantle Press is getting to grips with a new way of operating in these unprecedented times. Fremantle Press is committed to the safety of its staff, creatives, contractors and suppliers, and is closely following all guidelines and information regarding the evolving crisis around COVID-19 and how to best mitigate any escalation and impact of the spread of this virus in our community.

For now we are still on the premises and still working hard to produce and promote books. However, in response to the latest news and advice from government health agencies, we have closed the Fremantle Press office to non-essential visitors. If you are required to collect or deliver books or have essential business here, please call ahead and speak to Kendra and Cathy on 9430 6331.

We hope that our publishing program will not be unduly affected, given that book production is a largely digital activity. However, we do know that book-related events and marketing activities will be affected and we will be monitoring these daily with updates on our website and social media.

At the present time, we no longer have any large Fremantle Press events scheduled until the second half of the year and, alongside our event partners, we will monitor the situation between now and then. We encourage authors to postpone book launches for now or to consider undertaking those launches in an online format.

We want to take this opportunity to send our best wishes to event organisers around Australia who have had to make the heartbreaking decision to cancel writing festivals until further notice. We know just how much effort and care goes into your gigs and we feel for you all.

A final word about our booksellers: some local bookstores are staying open with cleaning and hygiene regimes in place and many are offering free delivery of books in your area. Most have cancelled their events programs until further notice. Please support these important cultural institutions by continuing to buy books from your local bookstore online or by phone.

We trust that you, with us, will remain positive and supportive of all arts sector practitioners and activities.

All the best, Jane and everyone at Fremantle Press
