Fremantle Press creatives Sally Morgan and Ambelin Kwaymullina are welcomed into the Nautilus Book Awards family in the United States

The US edition of I Love Me, published by Andrews McMeel and written and illustrated by Sally Morgan and Ambelin Kwaymullina, has won a 2019 Silver Nautilus Book Award.

With winners chosen from across the United States, Mary Belknap PhD, writing on behalf of the Nautilus Book Awards team, said the creators could be especially proud of the book’s selection as the award attracted a record number of entries and included a ‘magnificent diversity of high-quality books’. Belknap wrote, ‘May your book’s message bring hope, wisdom, healing, and inspiration to many people’.

I Love Me utilises rhyme, rhythm and repetition to engage younger readers and encourage them to join in. Its uplifting message about loving yourself for who you are celebrates individuality and helps build self-esteem.

Sally Morgan said I Love Me was one of her and Ambelin Kwaymullina’s favourite books. She said, ‘We are happy it is finding an enthusiastic audience among children.

Children’s Publisher Cate Sutherland said the Australian edition was available in paperback and board book formats. She said, ‘We wanted to develop this wonderfully Australian book for very young readers so that they can see themselves reflected in the vibrant diversity that it portrays.’

I Love Me is available online and at all good bookstores. More information about the awards is available here.
