Catch your favourite Fremantle Press authors in a new exhibition featuring Western Australian children’s books and YA novels at the City of Perth Library

Head down to the City of Perth Library from now until 18 October for an amazing exhibition by our children’s and YA authors. The exhibit will showcase the inspiration, draft notes and illustrations, artworks and more behind their books.

Explore the figurines and colourful illustrations behind Kelly Canby’s The Hole Story, Rodney and Littlelight and be wowed by Moira Court’s original artworks and hand-carved printing blocks from Antarctica and her forthcoming book, At the Dog Park. Helen Milroy shows off all the different artwork layers she creates for each image in Backyard Birds and gives us a little sneak peek of her upcoming picture book, Backyard Bugs. She’s also included original paintings for Wombat, Mudlark and Other Stories. Don’t miss the chance to marvel at the weird and wonderful world of S.Tinker Inc. by James Foley, including first drafts, storyboards, dung beetles and clay models used in the creation of Brobot, Dungzilla, Gastronauts and Chickensaurus.
