Fremantle Press board appointments 2026
Fremantle Press is pleased to announce the appointment of Louise Jones as Chair of Board and Sue Wilson as Deputy Chair.
Louise replaces Clair Medhurst, who stepped down from the Board at the 2026 AGM. Longtime board members David Ansell and John Hoddinott have also stepped down.
Louise Jones has been on the board for eight years. She is a former lawyer and barrister practising in commercial and regulatory crime, former principal of freelance writing and strategic communications business, and political advisor. Louise is passionate about the publishing sector and childhood literacy. She works on a number of not-for-profit arts boards and is a podcaster.
Sue Wilson is an experienced director and senior executive. She was previously the Pro Chancellor and a member of Council at Curtin University, Chair of the WA State Council of the Governance Institute of Australia, Chair of Amana Living and is a former non-executive director of Western Power.
Louise Jones welcomed her new Deputy and thanked Clair, David and John for their commitment to the Board and to Fremantle Press. She said, ‘During their tenure at Fremantle Press, we have adopted updated governance procedures, launched a significant philanthropic project to support local literacy, celebrated fifty years of the Press and purchased our first permanent home. I am proud to have been with the board for the past eight years and look forward to continuing to champion its mission alongside amazing new faces like Sue Wilson.’
In other news, Fremantle Press CEO Alex Allan has been appointed Vice President of the Australian Publisher’s Association Board of Directors, placing her at the heart of the publishing conversation and agenda.
