Jackson Harvey and Alex Towler crowned world’s greatest LEGO® Masters

The creators of A New World Rises: Tales of a LEGO® Future pulled off a 12-hour build to win another season of LEGO® Masters, splitting $100,000 in prize money. Jackson and Alex teamed up with Fleur Watkins in a Jurassic Park-themed build that featured two mechanised flying dinosaurs attacking a monorail.

Tensions were high with Alex at one point bricking it with his head on the table, while Jackson’s loose grip led to a busted dinosaur and a quick rebuild. But the team rallied, using every last second to get the finish they wanted, beating runners-up Oskari, Aura and Gabby, and third-place team Trent, Alex G and Felix.

It will be no surprise to regular viewers that Brickman had a tear in his eye when he praised their teamwork. Whether he was truly moved or truly fearful that Sophie Monk might drop his heavy custom-built trophy on her way to delivering it wasn’t clear, but the final trophy was epic – splitting into three pieces to reveal a mini LEGO® studio, mini Brickpit and $100,000 in (LEGO) cash.

While the show has been airing on our screens, Jackson and Alex have been getting ready to bring their exhibition RELICS: A New World Rises to the Canberra Museum and Gallery.

Part nostalgia trip, part immersive art experience, the RELICS: A New World Rises exhibition transforms forgotten objects into extraordinary LEGO® worlds. Opening on 19 September, be the first to access tickets, get in-store discounts and a free paint-your-own mini figurine when you visit.
