Sister Heart by Sally Morgan joins the Reading Australia curriculum for 2024.

Reading Australia, created by the not-for-profit Copyright Agency, have released its curriculum for 2024, and Fremantle Press author Sally Morgan is among the list of contributors for 2024 with her book Sister Heart.

The Reading Australia curriculum champions rich literary history and presents stimulating and thought-provoking literature for all educators – including early childhood, primary, extracurricular and librarians – to assist in navigating and building robust, diverse stories and introducing new concepts to the classroom.

Written by educator and President of ALEA Melbourne Local Council, Judy Garner, your Year 4 students can listen to Sister Heart by Sally Morgan, and engage in a variety of learning activities and conversations.

Access to the 2024 Reading Australia curriculum allows patrons to engage with approximately 275 texts that can be implemented in the classroom, including teaching notes and activities.

About the book

A young Aboriginal girl is taken from the north of Australia and sent to an institution in the distant south. There, she slowly makes a new life for herself and, in the face of tragedy, finds strength in new friendships.
