Sharron Booth

Sharron Booth was born in Yorkshire and when she was nine years old, her family moved to the southern suburbs of Perth as part of the wave of 1970’s British migrants. She survived high school with the help of pub rock, post-punk, cricket and underage drinking. Sharron dropped out of university to work as an advertising copywriter but eventually returned, going on to complete an award-winning PhD. The Silence of Water is her first novel and explores themes of dislocation, exile and family secrets. It was shortlisted for the City of Fremantle 2020 Hungerford Award for an unpublished manuscript.
