Amanda Curtin on art, the notion of legacy and Kathleen O’Connor of Paris
In this episode of the Fremantle Press Podcast, Events Marketing Assistant Tiffany Ko speaks to Amanda Curtin about her new book Kathleen O’Connor of Paris.
In order to shed light on the significance of this often forgotten Western Australian female artist, Amanda followed her subject to France, the UK and New Zealand. Amanda suffered for her art as Kathleen O’Connor did – she even contracted bronchitis while undertaking research in Paris, a condition that O’Connor long suffered from. This is a great conversation about art, the notion of legacy and whether making a living from art is getting any easier.
