Join us as we announce the 2024 City of Fremantle Hungerford Award winner and celebrate new releases at the Great Big Book Club.
Readers of Western Australia – this is your night! This is your official invitation to help hosts Molly Schmidt and Julia Lawrinson celebrate the talent of four new writers and the amazing work of established Western Australian storytellers.
Enjoy readings and talks by talented local authors and artists Kelly Canby, Nandi Chinna, Brooke Dunnell, Deb Fitzpatrick, Ebony Froome, Mark Greenwood, Renae Hayward, Josh Kemp, Gerard McCann, Helen Milroy, Rebecca Mills, Karleah Olson, and Alexander Thorpe.
Listen as talented crime writer and Australia’s first punk musician Dave Warner gives a musical performance that will include a tribute to Kylie Minogue.
Then cheer as Mayor Hannah Fitzhardinge announces who has won the City of Fremantle Hungerford Award. Good luck to shortlisters Howard McKenzie-Murray, Jodie Tes, Fiona Wilkes and Yirga Gelaw Woldeyes.
Tickets are free but places are limited. Books, food by Emily Taylor, and refreshments will be available to purchase on the night.
