Oral history activity

We all have stories to tell and experiences we would like to share. Inspired by Sally Morgan’s My Place for Younger Readers, this classroom activity invites students to interview someone about their life, memories and experiences. By recording and preserving these personal stories, students will explore how oral histories help us understand the past and pass important knowledge on to future generations.
This activity suits students in years 5–9. Free teaching notes are also available to deepen students’ knowledge about the book, Humanities and Social Sciences and History. Download here.
