Fremantle Press in running for two ABIA awards

Fremantle Press has been shortlisted for the Australian Book Industry Award for both Small Publisher of the Year and Children’s Publisher of the Year.
Fremantle Press CEO Alex Allan thanked both the ABIA and the Australian Publishers Association. Alex said, ‘We’re proud of all the talented creators, freelancers and local ambassadors who make up the success story that is Fremantle Press. Our in-house team worked enormously hard last year and I’m happy to share this accolade with them. It’s wonderful for our industry to have reasons to celebrate right now.’
The Australian Book Industry Awards, now in their 25th year, celebrate excellence and innovation from the teams and individuals across the industry who get books into the hands of readers – from authors and artists to publishers, editors, marketers and booksellers.
The Small Publisher of the Year Award and the Children’s Publisher of the Year recognise organisations whose program (including sales, promotion, editorial and production) demonstrated excellence in the preceding calendar year, thereby contributing to the overall success of the industry.
Other Western Australian organisations who made the ABIA shortlists were Magabala Books, Beaufort Street Books and Paper Bird.
The winner in each category will be announced at a ceremony at Zinc Fed Square in Naarm/Melbourne on Wednesday 7 May.
We’ve compiled a carousel of our 2024 books so you can see all the creators and titles who contributed to our success.
